Jay Roberts is a London based production designer and art department team member in various other roles. He has worked on feature films, commercials, short films and charity promotional films.
Recent credits include production designer on the gangster comedy ‘A Gangster’s Kiss’(2024) directed by Ray Burdis, staring John Hannah, Martin Kemp, Patsy Kensit and Michelle Collins, and the gritty gangster comedy ’Bermondsey Tales: Fall of the Roman Empire’ (2024) directed by Micheal Head, staring John Hannah, Frank Harper, Maisie Smith and Alan Ford. Both films are currently screened on Amazon Prime.
Other recent credits include production designer on the short film ‘Ain’t Nuff Time’ (2024) created by Imagine If Theatre Company and screened at Sunrise Film Festival in 2025. This short was made to promote art therapy for the rehabilitation of prisoners in the UK.
Jay Roberts was also production designer on short films including the haunting drama ‘Mulo’ (2019) directed by Linda McDonald Cairns and the dystopian BFI film ‘Lifeline’ (2017) directed by Sam Jones. Both shorts have won awards at film festivals.
Jay Roberts has also worked as art director on the award winning short film ‘Lodgers’ (2016) directed by Keni Ogunlola and also as art department assistant on numerous productions including the feature films ‘Persuasion’ (2022), ‘Arifa’ (2019) and ‘London Town’ (2016) as well as commercials for Lego, Porsche, Apple and various other companies.
Jay Roberts graduated from Wimbledon College of Arts with BA honours in Set Design for Screen in 2013.
